Gallagher Literary was once a prominent name in the industry but is now a quiet boutique (highly selective) literary management and production company.
A few years back, I moved to a little island off of the Pacific North West after 3 decades of working in Los Angeles.
Retirement should be some place peaceful and Los Angeles is not that.
The plan was to focus within (Jedi stuff you wouldn't understand) and get lost sailing amongst the hundreds of islands, but in time I missed reading and discovering / developing amazing literary talent and frankly it's the only thing I'm still good at.
So I thought why not just be semi retired instead of fully retired, and just be super selective about projects I take on?
And that's where I am today. A lot of my old associates are in the same boat (so to speak)!
When I was young it was critical to live IN Los Angeles to work AT the agencies and build relationships with buyers over lunches and drinks. In person.
Those days are over, sadly, and tech has replaced everything.
No more fresh smelling scripts hot off the presses with gleaming brass brads, rushed about town in crisp brown packages, crammed in the backpacks of motorcycle messengers screaming through miles of gridlock traffic and the haze of pollution.
It's all so tragically gone and mostly forgotten, but I'm happy to have experienced it.
It was a good time for a very, very long time. And now it's gone.

I offer services traditionally associated with literary agents & managers such as script development, career guidance, packaging, and film/TV spec sales and packaging where possible.
As a Manager, I'll try to attach myself as a Producer where possible, because that's why smart agents become managers.
